holly wood only looked at the mayan capital but this symbol represents what i think is called parrellinium which is when the earth sun and meteors and the center of the milky way line up which occurs every 2200 years or soo
well. . . . just a couple of nights ago i was watching an interview with the mayans about how mad they are about this “day” because the symbol is representing just uv rays are VERY strong on that day but. . . they say there is no more after that because they are hidden or at other places

IF this calander and all the unexplained monolithic structures were actually built by a previous culture and handed down to the mayans.
Perhaps these “primitive” people were alerting us to a future time which we would be faced with a “911″ scenario?
the fact is that there are earth changes and unexlplained sightings of numbers such as 11:11 etc. which make me think it is a process and a big event.
Misconceptions are made when the facts are not known. The Mayans would not have written it in stone if there was no reason to. Google search with quotes “3. 5 trillion electron volts” to see what is in store for Earth when we align with the galactic equator in 2012 & search SuperWave theory for evidence of the last gamma ray event that happened 12,883 years ago, half of a complete precession of the equinoxes. Also see Voyager 1 & 2 bow shock data. Ignoring the facts does not change the facts.
